Greetings parents, students, and community members. My name is Jennifer Cuevas and I am the new Principal at Kucera Middle School in the Rialto Unified School District. It is with tremendous excitement and enthusiasm that I share this with you. The 2023-2024 school year marks my sixth year as an administrator in Rialto and my 17th year overall as an educator. I began my career as a middle school math teacher in 2006 and I have recently served this community as Assistant Principal at Carter High School and Eisenhower High School. This past school year I also worked as the Acting Principal at Carter High School. I am committed to supporting Kucera as we strive to be a middle school of exceptional distinction.

Parent/Community Volunteer Welcome Dinner - 6/6/24
Minimum Days for the rest of the year will be as follows: Wednesday, May 22, Wednesday, May 29, and Thursday May 30.
The last day of school is Thursday, May 30th.
We will be collecting all the computers and chargers from all students before the end of the school year.
Collection Dates:
6th grade students will return their computers on Thursday, May 23
7th grade on Friday, May 24th
8th grade on Tuesday, May 28th
If your student is attending summer school, a computer will be available for them in the class.

Hello Kucera Families!
Information is being sent for 8th grade events that will be happening over the next couple of weeks. It is an exciting time at Kucera! Our 8th graders are being celebrated for leaving middle school to begin high school.8th Grade trip to Universal Studios
Friday 5/17 1:00 PM to 1:00 AM.
The assembly for 8th graders going to Universal will be 6th period on Thursday 5/16.
If students are attending this trip we will have a special assembly on Thursday 5/16, 6th period to review expectations. Universal Studios has provided a list of guidelines for students who attend the Jr. Grad Bash. We will be going over the rules with students. Any student unable to follow Universal Studios rules will not be able to enter the park.
8th Grade BBQ and Yearbook signing party
Tuesday 5/21 from lunch time to the end of 6th period.
All 8th graders will be able to attend the BBQ for lunch on this date. Students who ordered a yearbook will receive it before the 6th, and 7th graders.
8th Grade Awards Ceremony Thursday 5/23 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
This is an invitation only event to celebrate academic success, attendance achievements, and citizenship. Students who are to be recognized will receive their invitations on Wednesday 5/15.
8th Grade Formal at Sierra Lakes Friday 5/24 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Tickets are on sale through today at 1:00 PM for $50.
8th Grade Promotion Ceremony at Carter HS on Thursday 5/30 at 7:00 PM.
Each student will receive 6 tickets and they will be distributed the day before promotion during school. Overflow seating will be available in the Theater at Carter if families have more than 6 attending. Children under 2 years of age do not require a ticket. Students will need to arrive at 6:00 PM to line up with their classmates.
This is the list of minimum days between now and the end of the year:
May 15, 22, 29, and 30.

When: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday in Room 22 from 7:30 AM - 8:00 AM, All subjects, All EL Students (This flier will be your pass. Need a new flier-go to room 22.) Attached is Secondary Reclassification Criteria 23-24. Reclassification is the process that determines whether an English Learner should be redesignated as a Fluent English Proficient (R-FEP). Reclassification relies on evidence demonstrating that the student has achieved a level of English proficiency comparable to that of average native speakers of English in the district, and is achieving and sustaining a level of academic achievement comparable with students whose native language is English. District reclassification policies and procedures are aligned with California Department of Education guidelines. Multiple criteria are utilized to establish that the student is ready to be reclassified:
